Right, basically i have spent my last heap of money on my PC for quite some time, as next year i am buying a house and will be unable to put aside funds for PC upgrades.
I usually spend quite a bit every year on by now pay later (12 months) and save over 10 months and pay it off. It has definitely helped my credit rating, helped my hobby and has been fun over the years, thank you OCUK.
So i decided, since it's already powerful i would swap out some parts, peripherals, new monitor and also make it pretty and white.
The PSU and the Corsair H100i liquid cooler are much needed, coil whine and high temperatures/noise.
The monitor because i play a lot of FPS games and have been wanting an upgrade to a 120Hz (this BenQ does 144Hz) screen for a while.
The keyboard, because mechanical keyboards are awesome and i'm sick of the detection delay i get on boot with my current keyboard (G110)
Corsair C70 case, it's a great looking case, with handles (handy for LANs) and needed a new case to support the H100i.
And a load of fans and cables.
Here's what i had before:
A mess in an annoyingly small case.
Here's the main bulk of the upgrade purchase:
Benq XL2411T 24" TRUE 120Hz 3D Vision 2.0 Widescreen LED Monitor - Black/Red 1 £199.99
Corsair Professional Series AX 860W '80 Plus Platinum' Modular Power Supply (CP-9020044-UK) 1 £135.79
Corsair Vengeance C70 Midi Tower Gaming Case - Arctic White 1 £91.66
Corsair Hydro H100i High Performance Liquid CPU Cooler (Socket 1155 / 1156 / 1366 / 2011 / AM2 / AM3 / FM1 / FM2) 1 £83.32
SteelSeries 6G v2 Mechanical Gaming Keyboard (64226) 1 £62.49
Corsair Professional Series Gold AX850/AX750/AX650 Individually Sleeved Modular Cables - White (CP-8920010) 1 £44.16
Corsair SP120 Quiet Series High Pressure Low Noise - Dual Pack 3 £64.98

IC Diamond 24-Carat Thermal Compound (4.8g) 1 £11.66
Corsair AF120 Quiet Edition Low Noise High Airflow - Single Pack 1 £11.66
Steelseries QcK+ Gaming Mouse Pad (63003) 1 £9.98
Akasa "Vegas" White LED strip light - 60cm 1 £7.49
OcUK Value DVI-D Dual Link M - M Monitor Cable (Black) - 3 Meter 1 £6.66
OcUK Air Duster Compressed Air (400ml) 1 £5.82
NZXT Front Panel connections cable set 30cm sleeved - White 1 £4.99
BitFenix Alchemy SATA 6GB/s braided cable 30cm - White 4 £19.96
NZXT 3 Pin Fan White Sleeved 30cm Extension Cable - CB-3F (BWW) 4 £16.64

BitFenix Alchemy Internal USB Extension 30cm - sleeved white/white 2 £8.30
BitFenix Alchemy Internal Audio Extension Adaptor 30cm - White 1 £3.74
BitFenix Alchemy Molex Extension 45cm - sleeved white/white 1 £3.32
Akasa Aluminium 14cm Fan Filter - GRM140-AL01-BK 2 £5.82
I still have a couple of white cables to get that i have forgotten.
So far:
A gutted C70 case. Loads of space, build quality is outstanding and cable routing was definitely a thought of well.
Despite what pictures may dictate, you can actually mount the front fans right at the front by removing the panel.
They show through, just, picture doesn't give the best example. I do have the choice of removing the separate front dust filter, which would show off the whites of the fans more, but i want as little dust as possible.
After a couple of hours i managed to transplant the majority of the kit across, install the H100i and new PSU. Still a few more things to come, more fans and some cable management.
A few issues i came across:
The combo of the Corsair Vengeance C70, Asus Sabertooth X79 means you cannot run the H100 with a Push/Pull fan setup. The VRM/MOSFET heatsink gets in the way by roughly 5mm.... I could file it down, but i'll see how i get on with just push for now.
Some of the cables in the AX850 kit do not fit the AX860. I took the gamble because i thought "I can't see any reason why i wouldn't work". Turns out, the connections on the back of the AX860 are quite bespoke.... for no apparent reason.
There's not that much space behind the motherboard tray for stashing cables away, will take a little while to tie it all back.
Anyways, here i am so far:
More pictures to come, up to the final seal up of the case and the final desk/workstation setup.
p.s.
I haven't thought of a name for it yet. Answers/ideas/thoughts on a postcard!
