Hi first intel build in years coming from amd. so will be running the above cpu with no gpu in an unraid server in a meshify 2 with 3 x 140 intake fans and wondered about the oem cooler what do you think of it in this case scenario ?
Thanks
While it may do the job personally I wouldn't use it. I haven't used the included one for my 12600 and in this review of the 13500 they used the stock cooler and the cpu rapidly hit over 95 degrees C and throttled. Your case will take a cooler up to 185mm tall so I would get one of the excellent bang for buck Thermalright coolers. The Thermalright Peerless Assassin SE120 can be had for just under £40 or if you want something smaller the Thermalright Assassin King 120SE ARGB is just £17.49 or even cheaper is the Thermalright Assassin X120 Refined at just £15.39.
Depends what your doing, I had a stock cooler on my I5 12th gen and the only reason I upgraded was because I brought a cooler ages ago for dirt cheap. When gaming on stock cooler I didn't see the cpu temp go to high but then again I do play older games.
For other cpu intensive programs you might be limited by the cooler.
Thanks atm I have a really old cooler master hyper with dual fans on my old system 10 + years and ordered up the new hardware without thinking about cooling
