Hi there, this is what I have finally come up with £500 was my budget so this is stretching it, anything that can be reduced to give me enough money for an OS...

Is this i5 fairly overclockable? was going AMD route for a piledriver but everybody tells me that would be a mistake

----

Ordering on Nov 10th so got a bit of time but need to know how much stuff i need to sell.

As per Stulid is on the ball!

I would come back on forums and post a thread on 7th/8th of novemeber as the new weekly sales will have commenced and you may be abale to get some different / decent parts for cheaper then.

if you get 3330 there is no need for 3rd market cooler unless you want silence, because you will not be able ot overclock it...

I would advice you to stretch to 3570K.

I also heard that bitfenix is not very good on airflow, but I am not too sure, might be wrong...

Modified to have gigabayte mobo instead of MSI, due to overclocking problems in MSI as mentioned below by stulid.
Also added optical.

I like that but you still need an optical drive ontop.

The Z9 is a great starters case, it still has it's quirks. I own one and am happy to recommend it for all the extras it comes with. If I was to use a hinobi I think I'd get the window version for £6 more. Not only does it have a window but comes with 2 fans, the other versions only tend to come with one

Apparently the MSI G43 has locked voltage, lame if you wish to do decent overclocking with a proper overclockng CPU.

The Z77-D3H does not have this issue.

how does the overclocking of this cpu work on z77 boards?

The above example is for a i5 2500.

Would you need any more voltage by doing this?

As to the original question, That build looks fine. If you are getting the shinobi, i would get an intake fan as this improves the airflow quite a lot.

Shouldn't need any extra voltage for a small oc like that, if you did...the option is available in the BIOS or the auto setting may alter the vcore enough to keep it stable if needed.
