Opinions - Corsair Carbide 540 vs Corsair Obsidian 750D?

Just moving on from my air 540, while it's provided great temps, never been particularly happy about its build quality and it's the dustiest case I've ever owned. However with its hidden PSU (a must for me now) it does look tidy through the window. Have you got your heart set on one of these or are you up for suggestions? Are you water or air cooled? What components are going in, what are you looking for e.t.c.

Oh yeah, and welcome you will find a lot of helpful people in here!

Never had any real concerns about build quality with my 540 though there are a few bits that feel a bit loose and plasticy around the top vents. Also the rear 140mm fan position doesn't nicely take all fans without impeding the nearby side panel screw and some like the bequiet fans you'd have to use the 120mm on the rear.

You do need to make sure all inlets have dust filters (only the front comes with them pre-fitted) and you have sufficient positive flow to remove dust - otherwise you tend to get a fair bit coming in the bottom.

I find the bottom HDD tray tends to easily magnify HDD noise/vibration which isn't ideal if you use them.

Overall though I really like the case despite 1-2 negatives like the SSD cage feels like an after thought and the front panels bays being rotated sideways. It is a shame they've not done a proper revision of it fixing some of the little issues and building on the core of what the case does well i.e. NAS style bays for SSDs so you could add/remove them without opening everything up would be great.

It's going to house a GTX 1080, a STRIX Z370-F motherboard, an Intel i7 8700K CPU, 2x 8GB Vengeance LPX memory, a 500GB Samsung 860 EVO SSD, a 1TB seagate HDD and finally a 650w corsair silent power supply.

I like both of these cases but i'd be open to suggestions as long as they're around the same price
