Right, I'm pulling the trigger on one of these two monitors which are both in the clearance section. I've read on line reviews and I feel the Acer comes out slightly better but I'd like a few opinions first if possible.

Acer Predator XF270HU 27" 1440p 144hz freesync 4ms response time. or

MSI Optix MAG27CQ 27" 1440p 144hz freesync 1ms response time.

I don't play FPS that much and when I do, I've found that the 4ms response time on my BenQ is quite sufficient for me. I like the look of the MSI and the Acer looks a bit, well, boring, but I'm more interested in image quality. They seem to be very close in performance and they both suffer from equal amounts of back light bleed and dead pixels if I was unlucky enough to get a duff one of either brand. I must admit I'm leaning more towards the Acer, but a few opinions here would go a long to being helpful in my choice.
Cheers guys.

Personally I would never buy a monitor from the clearance section as it is a bigger lottery than normal as often they are in there due to dead pixels or poor back light bleed/ips glow or worse. Just be prepared is all I`m saying.

I would never buy Acer due to bad experiences so I would look at the MSI however a) its a VA panel against an IPS-Acer (I prefer IPS due to good viewing angles) and b) do a google first because I found a brand new one cheaper.

I would get the acer since its IPS and it seems the MSI Optix has scanlines (which is meant to be fixed in the newer version that has rbg on the front, but costs £500+), I was about to pull the trigger on one but after watching tons of youtube reviews and reading the comments it seems to be a common issue

Well, when I went to buy the Acer, both the screens had already been sold! they were there about an hour before I went to purchase, so...I got hold of one of the MSI MAG27CQ instead. Now, I was expecting problems and was prepared to send it back if any problems were encountered, but, there aren't any.
Screen is in perfect nick cosmetically, all the cables were included and as far as I can see, theres no dead pixels at all (there might be some lurking in a corner somewhere, but I can't find 'em. I can't check for back light bleed 'cos its well bright where the monitor is situated so I'll check for that later. First thing I noticed was how smooth scrolling through normal web pages is, both with the mouse wheel and mouse pointer, everything just seems so much smoother than before and I haven't even tried a game yet so I'm looking forwards to that. I won't comment on the IQ as I don't feel qualified to do so as I'm not a monitor expert (as lotsa people here are I suspect) but the image is nicer and brighter than my old BenQ BL2710 AHVA screen, though not a lot, but noticeable. Oh, and its a doddle to set up, navigating the menus at the rear of the screen using the "joystick" is real easy and intuitive.
I'm gonna try out a coupla fps games and check out the high refresh rate/freesync options now. I'll post back some thoughts if anyones interested.

Edit: Most important, the missus likes it as well, says it looks stylish and that the old monitor looks old fashioned so thats a BIG plus!
