Just got this EK Res Pump Combo https://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=WC-411-EK

Can any of you give opinions on it? Just added it to my final order which comes Wednesday. I was originally going to go for the OCUK D5 res combo but decided on this.

I see some people put some kind of filter in these reservoirs is there any reason for that? couldn't find out myself lol.

PS Im a water cooling newb about to jump into the deep end Wednesday.

No reason for the filter, you are better off without in truth as it jsut gives it a place to clog up easily.

The pump res combo is one of the best available and if funds were no limit, would be my first choice.

Pump is the best you will find this side of the world and is more than enough for most situations in terms of flow rate. Itl tackle multi blocks and rads with no issue and is incredibly reliable. You can turn down t he speed to the point where it is essentially silent. If you want a larger reservoir, a spare tube can be bought directly from EKWB and can just be screwed in. The pump top is among the best pump tops too. An alternative would be the photon pump tube reservoir but tbh at this point you are splitting hairs.

Practical performance wise the OCuk D5 combo, the EK one and the photon tube combo is the same.

Your awesome :) have some bacon <3. I was thinking of mounting this on the windowed side of my case it looks to nice to be ignored :o.

So now I just need to wait for this bloody order lol so i can do my build log and hassle you guys with my shenanigans Wednesday.

Dont have a d5 tube reservoir but have my EK tube reservoir (essentially the same thing with a different bottom and its 250mm long) mounted on the inside of my case to the left, right up against the window panel. Everyone says it looks HUGE but its essentially what everyone else has, just a lot closer compared to the rest of the PC parts lol.

My build log in siggy has pics if you want to gander at where i mounted it :)

Hey Avenged can I asked you something buddy.

If I was to buy 2x Quick disconnects I would use one of the second quick disconnects male or female bits to connect to the male/female section I break off on i break off in the case wouldnt I? and connected to that would be a section of hose with a stop cap?

I am not really sure what you are asking but are you talking about two sets of disconnects, ie two males and two females?

I will be adding it to the loop so that i can disconnect both sets and connect the females to the males which previously were not paired together, essentially dividing one loop into two loops (one external and one internal for easy maintenance and upgrading and also to connect it to my benching rig when i need it).

What do you need the quick disconnects for?

lol sorry!

Pretty much the idea was that I would have a disconnect before the bottom rad between the gpu and rad that is which I would disconnect and connect to a male or female connector from another quick disconnect which would have a hose attached for easy draining of the loop.

Does that remotely make sense or am i muttering like a fool? lol

Ahh so you just want it to split the loop up for easy draining?

Then a female and a male one would work, with another bit of hosing leading to where you drain to with the opposite disconnector of the part you are draining.

So two females and a male or two males and a female.

I need to buy 2 full disconnects lol (ocuk) hah.

Then ofcourse I need 2 extra compression but my god to me this looks like it would be easier then the alternative. Which btw im not sure yet how I will drain unless I do get these extra bits.
