Opinions on this please?

From benchmarks that I have seen, the extra 1gb of ram, doesnt help with fps.

You will gain maybe on average 2fps in games over a regular 5870

The extra 1gb as the name suggests is helpfull for eyefinity and beyound resolutions.

Maybe for the same price better to get a slightly faster clocked 5870 like:

Im tempted to get the PC++ my self, but was also looking at the HIS ICooler 5850.... at £217
 
i would definitely get the 2gb card over the 1gb and its only a few quid more

You could easily overclock a 5870 to the OC card speeds
 
I dont think its a typo, maybe they have excess stock and need to get rid? I'm thinking about running a few monitors in the future so this card might just be the one for me. It's a reference card aswel from what i can see... so should come with the fancy black back plate/panel aswel. Not sure if it supports voltage tweak though like the msi and asus ones.

but over £70 cheaper than the other brands ? , it is the same price as some of the stock 1gb 5870's
 
Only really for 2560x1600 res so not that much need for most people. Maybe at 1920x1200 with full AA you might get a little usage with a very few games.
 
well if its the same price then of course get the 2g version, otherwise the extra 1gb doesn't add much fps in current games but may become helpful in future.

If you got more than one monitor then of course 2gb version 'd be better.
