Hi,

Atm I have pretty much decided that I'm going to get the Powercolor HD 7950 PCS+ as the reviews are very favourable (high clocks attainable with lowish temps and noise).
My only question is would it be worthwhile putting an extra 60 quid and getting a HD 7970?

I play with 1920 x 1080 res (BF3).

Don't really want to wait for either the 1.5 GB 7950 or for the Kepler although that would be sensible I suppose.

Thanks

I think the 7900 series is OTT for 1080p it's more for 1440p/1600p or eyefinity resolutions.

If you are set on getting one. I would say it's better to save the £60 and clock the hell out of the 7950.

Yeah perhaps that would be the more realistic option.
My idea of a getting a HD 7970 would be moreso a form of 'willy waving' I guess as it would be pushing my budget a bit.

Lets see if I can stick to that decision, thanks for the comment.

Cheers, it's helpful getting comments from others when I'm in limbo so to speak.
Thought I knew a bit about hardware until I started using this forum :)

Just get the cheapest 7950 you can find. For 1080P you'll really have no need to clock it any higher at this precise moment in time.
