I have a pair of Q Acoustics 2050i floor speakers arriving tomorrow. Couldn't pass them up for just under £200 brand new.

I currently have a Q Acoustics i7000 set of surround speakers and am now considering using the front pair as up firing Atmos speakers. The built in stands can easily be adjusted to fire the sound towards the ceiling and I can place the on top of the floor standers.

Any opinions on whether this would work properly or if it's even worth it?

Probably a redundant question as I'll no doubt try it anyway, but any tips or suggestions would be welcome.

My AVR is the Denon X2300

I have some of the well reviewed Pioneer T22A on my front speakers from the states, and honestly I would not bother - cant hear them at all as I find all my other speakers just envelope the soundspace to much anyhow.

Your going to get nothing out of your suggestion, those cones are way too small. if you are going Atmos my advice would be to invest in proper ceiling speakers, but the faff for me is way too much.
