It's £250 in local store, has 8gb and 256gb storage with 5G.

Is it any good?

Seems it and I'm looking to upgrade from Xiaomi Redmi 8T.

Android 13 is something I was thinking about too because all the Android 11 phones don't seem to be updating to 12, let alone 13.

I think in terms of RAM I'm thinking go slightly overkill now so it lasts me longer. Had my 8T 3yrs and it's been ok. Gives far better pictures than my girlfriends iPhone 12/13/14 or whatever. Running out of space too even with SD Card. Again figured I'd bypass 128 and go 256 to future proof.

I could do with 5G as my Smarty contract supports it but I'm not using it. I'm currently using it to tether to for work so 5G would be a nice bonus.

Anything £140+ would be the most I've ever spent on a mobile phone. I don't like the idea of spending £350 on one, let alone £700+, on something which could easily get broken. I've replaced phones through damage so never bought big.

In that case considering your requirements, can you stretch to the Samsung Galaxy A53? In terms of future proofing it should be good for future Android updates, came with 12, already got 13, and is eligible for 14. Also comes with a microSD slot so you're not limited to the 128gb/256gb it comes with.
Definitely something to look into. I'm open to it all and I'm so so about Xiaomi. Been a brilliant phone but the software to download to PCs isn't great and I find it easier to do it manually.

As an alternative to the A53 they recommend the realme 9 pro plus. More memory, twice as much storage and cheaper at £349. Hmmmm.

This is getting a bit of a minefield.
