Majorty is gaming and think I will need a dual core to take advantage of upcoming game improvements.

Whats the better chip to get?

AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 3800+ (Socket 939) - Retail (ADA3800BVBOX) (CP-134-AM) 2.0ghz

or

AMD Opteron UP 146 San Diego 2.0GHz 1MB Cache (Socket 939) - Retail (CP-142-AM)

Im guessing the opty will clock better given I get a decent stepping but what use is the speed if single core? Anyone know how the x2 3800's clock?

PS it will be on a Asus A8N-SLi
