Well ive got a 144 and am aiming for 2.8ghz on air :D yet atm by board gets stuck around 280HTT ive tested the board and its good for up to 320ish. What would be a safe limit of volts for my cpu so i dont fry it? my board is a DFI CFX3200. Also would increasing the chipset voltage help?

Thanks in advance

could b u have reached u limit, u say u have tested board 320+, was this with same chip ?
head over 2 dfi forum, they have 1000's of OC entries, loads use that opteron chip, board, ram ect. u never know may even go higher with some tweaking from there info.

Others have been clocking to 3150 with less than 1.55v and the are using water.

Thats an incredibly exceptional chip, only the very best Opterons and those OEM 4000s a few weeks back can do that.

Would the motherboard have aything to with it at all. I have never played around with optetrons before, but when guys are using watercooling at those voltages, air just doesnt seem to be an option.

If your just seeing how far it will clock id go up to 1.7, altough youl get diminishing returns after 1.55 i would have thought
