Opteron 146 Compatible with Shuttle 939 SN95G5 V1?

Yes, they're San Diego's, but they are more and more often called Venus cores but those are the defunct S940 versions.

There's no guarantee that it will work, looking at Shuttle's website the last BIOS doesn't mention Opteron support, but I've used (albeit on an Asus MB) an Opteron without official support and it was simply reported as a Unknown Processor but otherwise worked as intended.

I suspect it will work without issue in this case though.

My Neo 2 Platinum only saw it as an Unknown Processor. Didnt have any side effects. I would recomend looking around to see if anyone else with a shuttle and opteron got it working. It would be a shame to see it not work.

I had one in a Shuttle SN95G5 and it worked flawlessly, ran it at 2.8Ghz stock volts :D

I've not seen anyone with problems running an optie in any S939 board.

what version was it?

And did it pick it up as an opty or unknown cpu? :)

could a don please edit the title of this thread for me? :)

And change it to opteron 146 compatible with shuttle 939 SN95G5 V1 :)

thanks

Yeah I'm fairly sure it would work since it is a San Diego core, if it had been a different core to the SD then it may have caused problems.

Well The shuttle I'm am thinking of buying second hand so I want it to work with the opteron.I don't want to be stuck with a second hand shuttle and no cpu for it.
