Opteron 148 or Amd X2 3800?

My Opteron 148 runs good at around 2.64 to 2.75 m.hz., so would an X2 3800 be any quicker? Do they overclock very well?

x2 3800 generally hit 2.5ghz with ease. and will be faster in general use, also as time goes on and things become more multi threaded the x2 will increase its lead.

Depends on the stepping but the most you could expect on air is probably 2.8GHz.

yes stepping determines the max overclock but even a crap stepping should allow you to get to 2.5ghz, possibly even on stock volts.

All the current 3800 x2s will be Manchester cores and they clock really nicely.

In games, it will be slower but at multitasking faster.
