opteron 150 set up

Hi guys, as you can see, I'm new here.

I've recently bought a opteron 150 (still waiting for delivery). I was thinking a lp ultra d for a mother board. I already have 2 gig ocz el 4000 gold and all the other bits. I was wondering, which graphics card should I go for. I have around £150.00 to spend, I was looking @ the ocuk 7900gs, any advice?

What do you want it for? Games? Which ones? Video editting? What resolution? What screen are you driving?

I have a samsung 930 BF. I want a card for games (Crysis when it arrives and such like) and hdtv, although I may need a new monitor. I think my res goes upto 1600x1200 but I'm not sure.

Thanx, It seems to be the general consensus that ATi has more bang per buck than nVidia. Or am I wrong?

At that price range that's probably true. Around to £100 mark though the 7600GT can't be beaten.

forget nvidia this time around as they simply dont have anything thats as good with regards to price + performance.
