Opteron 165 overclocks

What have you guys managed to achieve with this cpu and what mobo and HS were you using?

I will be getting a CCBWE 0551 UPMW stepping and I will be using a Dfi mobo and OCZ platinum ram with an Arctic Cooler.

2.6ghz is still pretty damn good mate and I would be happy with it, its a lot better than my current 3400 newcastle.

So it is possible for that stepping to reach 2.8Ghz, I guess its alll down to your actual chip.

Well it was an ebay auction which I had already bid on and now I have won the auction, the good thing is that it only cost me £168 including postage for a retail cpu.

Well I have my Opteron and a Asus A8NE so all I need to do now is work out how to overclock it as I have no idea which settings to change. :rolleyes:

Ok I have managed to overclock to 2748Mhz using these settings.

HTT 275 I cannot go any higher without crashing at bios
PCI Lock 33.3 @100Mhz
Hypertransport x3
Ram FSB 266Mhz
1T Commandrate
1.465volts cpu

What can I do now to get a higher overclock?

Mine is still sitting at 2.47Ghz but it is one of the supposed bad clockers as its a CCBWE 0551UPMW. I have it running at 1.45v right now but I still have to play with the memory timings to see if I can make it any faster.

Mine 165 goes up to 62c when priming which is a little worrying really. I may just wait to see if the thermal paste needs to burn in more or if the heatsink may need reseating and then I will use some Arctic Silver.

Thats at 1.475v, I have no way of reading case temp but my mobo is at 32c.

I may buy myself the Corsair nautilus 500 WC kit as it looks nice and easy to fit and is great at reducing temps by the looks of things.

I am quite chuffed as I have managed to get 2.6Ghz out of my 165 now running at 1.45v.

333DDR
2.6v DDR
Hypertransport x3
PCI lock 33.33
Ram timings
2.5-3-3-8-11-16 1T

She has passed 32MB PI and 2 hours on Prime, I would do longer but I need to use all this power.
