Ok I have my opty running at 2.5Ghz right now with 1.475v my idle temp is around 38c and my load temp using Prime went up to 61c and using Super Pi it went to 56c. I guess this is a bit too high really. Is it my case as I have a Sonata II with an extra 120mm fan at the front and a Arctic Freezer 64 on my cpu.

Dual core do tend to get toasty and at the time i got mine i couldn't find any air cooling that satisfied my needs (with maybe 1 exception the tuniq tower but they are MASSIVE) so i went to water cooling.

Having said that mid 50's on load is ok and wont do any damage but, personally, i don't like to see temps into the 60's but i don't think it will cause damage either, not short term anyway. You could try to improve airflow through the case it may help. Problem is faster fans = more noise.

Its true about the fans mate. My front intake runs at 23dBa and 53CFM but I am thinking about making a duct for it that directs the airflow via the Northbridge and CPU.
