Ok, ran Orthos last night for 14 hours at 2.7Ghz stock voltage, (270 x10 memory on 180 divider to give 245Mhz and HTT at 4 to give 1080Mhz HTT). Passed fine no errors, but when I stopped Orthos and open CBID ( had Core Temp running to), flicked through a few tabs the machine just locked....

Any idea what it would do that at idle? Software issue between Core temp and CBID? (I'm sure I was just flicking onto the page that reads the temperature)

I've had similar issues with running Orthos, Core Temp and Everest at similar times Paul!

Was orthos stable for 10+ hours at clock in sig and then just locked when it was doing the simple stuff!

Is totally weird as the pc's rock solid in every other situation (encoding, gaming, web browsing etc...) so it must be something concerning software incompatibility! I wouldn't worry too much!

What's your cooling and what temps were you getting?

I've had similar things happen when running CoreTemp, so I know use either CBID or A64Info-beta for checking instead.

All 3 apps display the temps as accurate as each other, although CBID & A64Info swap the temps of the 2 cores around compared to CT :

With CT, Core 1 is the higher of the 2.

With CBID or A64Info, Core 0 is the higher of the 2.

I've also noticed that SpeedFan's temp reading is from Core 1, so depending on whether you've run CoreTemp or one of the other 2 apps, you either get the higher or lower temp reading.

XP-90C mate, need to get a Tuniq! But temps with side of case off is 48 and 53 C ish Orthos full load.

Cool!

Wouldn't worry then! As MoodyB says - similar things have happened that revolve around CoreTemp!

Get that Tuniq and let me know how your temps go! :)

Incidentally, my 165 ran at about 55 degrees at full Orthos load with the case side off and a scythe ninja with 2 akasa ambers strapped to it. I now have it in my Lian Li in sig with a lapped typhoon and the case side fitted and get the same temps! :)

Gonna strap a 120mm x 38mm panaflo to the typhoon and use another identical panaflo to improve the cfm into the case to see if the temp drops but tbh i'm pretty happy as it is!
