hey all, just wondering it this stepping of opteron 170 has come up at all as being a real good clocker?, im finally getting my grubby hands on this beauty in a couple of days and wondered it its a good one?

did anyone else have any idea of how good this is? im just curious to hear others opinions, im buying it for deffinate and i totally trust the person im buying it off, *well amazed to see it running at 2.8 allready!*

i just like seeing other peoples outlooks,

so anyone else heard of that stepping?
 
I have that stepping - 2.85ghz :D

Phase change = 3ghz+
Water = 2.9
Air = 2.7 - 2.8+

Assuming you hae decent hardware.
 
On various 'opteron 170 stepping guides' that are found across the net...such as the link you posted. :rolleyes:

Also built a system with that stepping and I personally couldn't get it past 2.7 p.95 stable. Temps were a problem and probably the cause so removing the IHS may have solved it, but as it wasn't 'my' chip I wasn't gonna do that now was I ;)
