I'm just about to go from a 3700+ to a opteron 165, and was wondering if anyone could advise me on what i need to download/ install to get dual core support in xp home eddition?

It should work straight out of the box in most cases although you might need to update your mobos BIOS if it's an older version. To make sure it recognises the new CPU as dual core, just look at task manager and you should see 2 CPU useage charts. Some people install the AMD dual core hotfix thingy too but I'm not sure if I'm convinced that it's necessary. Try it with and without and see what you think.
