OPTERON Question?

I know that currently the 170 is a dual core san diego chip but i've been offered an Opty 175 from the US which is specced as a Denmark core?

Are they different or same thing just a different name?

They're both Toledo cores, the 175 being 200MHz quicker than the 170.

the Opty 175 denmark is still a dual core Opteron and still on the 939 socket (always a good thing )

i'm guessing the only diffrence is that the 170 will run at 2.0GHz and the 175 will run at 2.2GHz with a different (read: higher) multiplier

I thought that would be the case but i've seen a cpu-z image that states a code name of "Denmark" and not Toledo?

as far as i know i believe that its an error with CPUz miss reporting Toledo's as Denmark's ?

Yeah, if it's S939 it's Toledo.

i had read that the Denmark core was just the name for the Toledo when in a server chip - as far as i know is exactly the same

Yeah, the Denmark core is the S940 version with the Registered RAM memory controller. They never actually produced them though as they're all S939 versions.
