Opteron + RAM

just out of interest - whats the diff between ECC registered and non registered ram? and why does the registered one seem more expensive? (I think)
 
ECC has an additional error checking/correction feature, hence the wide use on servers.

You can get ECC unbuffered RAM for socket 939 but not all motherboards support it 100% and it isn't easy to get hold of.
