I came up with this idea that I could buy opteron cpu to get some extra boost from my pc but after googleing for a while I came to this conclusion that I need registered memory ?
What is registered memory and wont normal kingston ddrs work with opteron cpus?

Registered memory is designed for servers (error corection built in), like the Opteron CPU is. You don't need registered memory to run an Opteron.

As long as the socket is 939 I can buy x2 opteron and single core ones and they will work on my mobo and with my ddr ?
