Its me again lol can u have dual Opterons in a Gaming PC like would my X1900XTX and Geil 2GB Dual channel Ram just work in a:

ASUS DUAL SKT-940 K8N-DL S/L 2000MT/S

with twin opterons ?

Yes (though you might need XP Pro for dual processors?).

What would be the point, you wouldn't gain any extra performance in gaming from it. I'd spend the money on an extra GFX card.

or rather than buying Dual Opterons on socket 940, just buy a Dual Core Opteron for socket 939... surely a better option, DDR unregistered memory, better support for games etc...etc...

And ecc ram cost a fortune, better off with a more common set up unless your getting the whole thing complete.

In addition to the other points, consider the sell on value when you want to upgrade, more people would buy a socket 939 system.

It would be quick and stable using 2 dual core opterons and ecc memory but you wont get much of an o/c as those boards arnt designed for it. Your best off with s939 with normal memory. Be far cheaper, better o/c chances and more game orientated
