Opterons 165 & 170 < - Gibbo

Just put in an order for a 170 good going OcUK and Gibbo, thanks for the constant updates.

Thats what I like about OcUK they communicate with the community.

Will let you all know how it overclocks as well :D

Hmm I might just be buying myself a little pressy... I've been looking for 165's and 170's all over the place and here OcUK comes up trumps (and with a reasonably good price as well as far as it goes... I don't suppose they're gonna go into "this week only" eh? Darn!)

Hi Gibbo,

Just now ordered me a AMD Opteron UP 170 Dual Core San Diego 2.0GHz 2MB Cache (Socket 939) and a ThermalRight SI-120 (Socket 754/939/478) Heatsink.
When I ordered in (One hour ago) it still said 'In stock'...
I presume there is no delay on the system and that it was in fact not 'Out of stock' !?

I mean I can be patient and wait for a week but I really dont want to wait for a month. Gibbo check for my name (Mr. van de Ven) you will notice I have spend several grands at your shop already. I like the service and the website and the goods you guys always have in stock. Please send me my Opteron! :) ;)

Looking at the website it seem they use a version of actinic (I think thats how you spell it) therefore there would be a slight delay.. unless they uploaded new information every 5 mins.

OCUK is the best PC component provider in the country in my opinion.

If anyone asks me where to buy PC gear I always send them here.. :)

Hmm, I couldn't resist.

Even though I got my 3700SD about a week or two ago I still ordered one!

If it has good stepping and clock well i'll let you guys know.

Heh, roll on tuesday!

or a glasgow kiss, as they call it up north.

Anyway gibbo what are the steppings? If it's something quality like a CCB1E 0550 VPMW i am selling my x2 and getting one of these, for sure.

i too would like to know what stepping they are?

could those who purchase them report their stepping and overclock results please?

Hi there

Our systems are automatic, if something goes out of stock and does not have a date for new arriving stock the system automatically changes the indicator and prompts the website to update and is a realtime process more or less. :)

Not yesterday but since this morning!! I ordered it this morning for 30 quid less... (269 Excl. VAT) and since it already went through secure payment I have saved 30 quid :p

Snap :D
I've got a 146 sitting here not used yet and I kept thinking that I should have gone for a dual core so talked myself round, not that I put up much of a fight ;)

Just got to decide on the MB now A8N32 or DFI Expert :)

me thinks that your system isn't linked in realtime to the fragware T-shirts, it's the only time OcUK have let me down and it took over a week to come <_< when i phoned up the guy said that he'd been dealing with people all week who were waiting for the tshirts...

so, little tip, dont order something you want really quick with one of the fragware Tshirts :p

i can understand when it happens, the system only knows if something goes out of stock if the right amounts of components have been logged into the system in the first place (useualy a sypplyer short shipping and no one counting or checking they sent the amount they said they sent)

the company i work for looses over £150,000 a month the same way =/

Any idea when it might drop in price. Planning to uby my new system within the month. Got the dell 2405 on its way, all i need now is a powerful mofo of a machine to run it :D

I hope you got the 2405 for the price before it changed Friday afternoon - they arent anywhere near as good a deal as they used to be ( no fault of OCUK i hasten to add)

I might well be geting a 170 from OCUK shortly - hope the steppings are good
