Optical connection help

Ive just setup a new htpc using an mai am1i mobo.

Now i have an ancient sony amp but its good so dont really want to change it atm.

It only has optical connections in.

Whats the beat way to get an optical connection to the amp?

Asus xonar dgx? Or is there a usb device?

You could fit a DGX into the PCIe slot if you're not using it for anything else. If you might want to put a GPU in there or something else, you could get a USB sound card. Xonar U5 would be a good choice. Comes with an included SPDIF adaptor to allow a standard toslink optical cable to be connected.
