Optical drive for Macbook Air 2020

I'm looking for an external DVD drive for my Macbook Air.
Is the Apple USB SuperDrive worth the premium, or are there better ones out there for less?

What on earth do you need an optical drive for? if its just some one off software could you borrow a drive from elsewhere or use wireless disc reading from another Mac?

GF wants to watch her JAG boxset on it. I can count it as a business expense so I'm not bothered.

-edit. She's using her 2013 macbook instead. It's a POS so I'd be interested to have an answer to my Q anyway. Cheers!

Superdrive at £80 or generic USB DVD drive at <£20. I know which I would be choosing when just needing it for a boxset.

Fair enough.
My N550 has a DVD Burner if I really need one, but it’s not 2001 any more.
