Optical Drive Guard Wont Budge?

I'm building my PC, I'm trying to install my optical drive but the guard on the front of the case wont budge, I've looked at loads of tutorials and for everyone else it seems to just push out, it's doing my head in!

Any help?

Yeh just hit it, you can't really brake anything when popping them out, don't give a slight whack, really go for it.
Unless it goes flying across the room and into your TV or something.

Haha nope, now I am connecting the Sata cable to the optical drive, which sata port does it going in on the motherboard? Sata 3?

Yes the SATA 3 port, that will give you 6Gbps transfer rate.

Yes, SATA 3 is the fastest to use.

Those are fan connectors (yes you need to use them xd), they power the fan the wire is connected too.
You need to plug the cable into a fan header on your motherboard.

Looks like this (the beige connector)

I can't find them? I have a few 'SYS_FAN' spots around the motherboard but these wires are only 3 pins long, the fan spots are 4?

Right think I've done it, is this correct? Just connected them to the nearest ones, doesn't matter which 'SYS_FAN' they are in does it?

Yes mate that's the right header for the fans. You can get fans which are PWM (pulse width modulation) which are four pin hence the spare pin you can see in your pics.

Nah the name doesn't matter.
Just SYS_FAN1 and 2 are most likely able to be controlled somewhat (the speed of the fan) in the BIOS (like 50% speed over 100%), depending on the motherboard that is.

Surely an Optical Drive will not benefit from SATA 3? So you would be best saving them for HDD/SSD?
