I realise that most PC builds now no longer have 5.25" Optical drives.
I wish to keep this functionality, on a new PC build repurposing Optical r/w drive.... finding a case proving difficult .... anybody aware of an empty caddy that I can fit an existing Optical drive into, ideally USB3 output.
Can find caddys with drives fitted .. but as I have plenty of Drives not going to buy another.
 
Do a search for "Caddy for 5.25 optical drive" there are some on the rainforest but looking at prices they aren't far short of the rewritable Blu-ray USB dive on Overclockers, they may even be specific to certain manufactures.
 
I looked into this but found you need to be very careful with the length of the caddy versus the drive length, some caddies are too short for some drives. I just bit the bullet and bought an external drive in the end.
