Optical Drive speed control/limit?

Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone knows of any software to limit the speed of a CD/DVD drive? Basically my DVD drive is pretty loud and if I want to watch a movie late at night, I can't really hear the audio over the sound of the DVD drive! I used to use Nero DriveSpeed, but it won't install on Windows 7 (haven't tried Vista).

Anyone got any ideas?

Tried installing in compatibility mode?
There is also a Media player that gives the option to reduce the dvd speed, not sure which it is though

Could be powerdvd.

Bleh, tried installing it again and it installed fine :confused:

. Maybe I tried installing it on my other x64 machine and thats when it had a hissy-fit? Not sure.

UPDATE: Yeah it was my other PC it won't work on. Looks like you need Nero installed first before installing as it complains about WINASPI32.DLL
