Apologies if this has been asked before.
I'm looking to rip all my DVDs (specifically the stuff that'll never come out in high-def, mostly live music performances and anime and stuff) through Handbrake for the following:
Files on NAS > iTunes Library > Remote app to tell them to play on the ATV3 > HDMI into an AVR/5.1 set up > speakers/TV
I don't intend on watching them on my iPad/iPhone or anything like that, just the ATV3 into the receiver.
In terms of settings, I see there's an ATV3 preset, but for the audio settings and picture settings, what's optimal? For audio I think I need AC3 passthru on the 5.1 track (do I even need to include the stereo AC3 track or downmixed AAC track which must be for iOS devices?), for picture I'm not so sure when it comes to the anamorphic settings. I have some stuff that's in 4:3, for example, and I'd want it to show up as 4:3 on screen (i.e. as intended).
Ta!
