Want to know if I should replace sata 2 cables with sata 3 cables if it makes any difference in speed or reliability... Or anything.

It seems like a cheap upgrade to do anyway.

Also if I mark my primary Ssd in sata port 1 and then hdds sata 2 3 etc will that affect anything. Eg their drive numbers or the OS? Will it also do anything to performance of my drives?

My motherboard is the gigabyte z87x ud3h I want to know if it's better to use the black sata ports or the blue (Marvell chipset??) ports
 
Yes there are... Different sata gens eg ones with clips etc are updated revisions of sata cables.. I just want to know if the revised versions affect performance.
 
yeah thats what i was thinking wazza.. by lowest you mean 1 is low right ... dont know why im making sure... lol

anyways your wrong on that comparison.. hdmi cables matter, the internal wiring of some (branded premium ones) get way better speeds e.g 16gbps vs 5gbps ... does it matter? no. unless you use 3D and cant use DVI
 
steve thanks for the help however what is the best way of finding out what is fastest... and do i just reconfigure the sata ports on the mobo coz last time i remember mis plugging it in the wrong port when i finished working on the pc and i couldnt boot .. didnt bother changing in bios as i knew it was the wrong sata port.
