Is there any way I can find out the optimum resolution for my monitor?

Im looking at changing my pc and unsure whether to include a monitor in the deal, problem being at the moment im offshore so cant check the model to ask directly :)

Also will the label on the back have the model number etc?

Thanks

Dave

cool, I'll see if the girlfriend can see it :)

Is there a website or anything I can goto to find the best resolution to run it at or anything?

Thanks for the quick reply my fellow aberdonian :p well im Moray but closer enough :p

indeed it should dougal, but recently as well as other issues, mine has been asking if I want to change resolutions due to poor performance :(

But as I mentioned, I'm hopefully, with some help, gonna be getting a new pc soon, so just wondered whether my monitor was upto the job, or whether I need to put one on my shopping list :D

ok update for you guys, this is my current monitor: its an Acer LCD monitor modle number X223W version X223W b. Hope that makes sense, its taken directly off the back sticker :)

So will it do for my new build (see my post in the Full systems and bundles forum if you wish) its basically used for gaming, but unsure whether it will cut it now or whether to grab a new one.

If it is to be a new one, have you guys any recomendations, not too expensive just to make WOW a nice experience again and for the step daughter to get her youtube fix :)

TIA

Dave

Yeah it is a 1680x1050 60Hz panel. 22". The biggest 1680x1050 panel in the series. The next one up, the 23" is 1920x1080. I have one of them sitting in the cupboard. :p

@OP

Now you know your resolution, I1680x1050 isn't an awful resolution, if it works why fix it?
But
Everything just seems that bit nicer in 1080p so maybe trade up to an equivalent sized panel but 1080p so you notice the increase?
