Optimum picture output for Wii?

Okay I've had a Wii since launch and I'm loving it! but I keep seeing videos and screenshots of the Wii being used and the picture is way clearer/better than mine. I was just wondering how you guys and gals have set your TV's up with your Wii's and how impressed you are with the clarity etc? (I hear they look superb on CRT's)
BTW I'm using a Samsung LE26R41B LCD with a official Nintendo component cable using the 480p resolution, anybody know if there is an 'optimum' or recommended set of picture settings for the Wii?

Im using a 3rd party component cable on ly 32" LCD... its pretty much pixel perfect.. I think the devkits they use to capture screenshots can run at 720p though. So the screenshots will always look sharper.

I think apart from faffing with your TVs settings, you've got the optimum picture output from the Wii:

Component cable + 480p set on Wii + 16:9 = pretty much it.

To be honest, I run my Wii on composite on the downstairs 28" w/s CRT and component on my 32" w/s HDCRT upstairs. Just a tad sharper (and a few inches bigger), although the HDCRT is good for SD/ED sources anyway.

The wii does look rubbish compared to other consoles, i cant even play my wii on my tv in my living room the quality is just horrible.

I found that it looks best on a 14" portable in my daughters bedroom, perhaps a 23" or 26" would look fine, but anything bigger is just ... yucky.

I'd wager RGB Scart or Component through a widescreen CRT TV would be the best experience. I've played the Wii on a 46" 1080p screen connected via component, and it's not the best viewing experience.

Yup, I personally think it looks very good, I run mine on a Tosh 36" CRT via component and its all good. Looks a bit crappy on the 32" LCD though

On my 50" HD DLP Via 480p component it's not very pretty

It lacks sharpness and looks slightly washed out while on the menus. Zelda looks ok, a bit jaggy though. I wish the wii could output 720p

Is RGB Scart as good as Component P.Q wise? I've run out of Component connections so switching the wii to RGB Scart would be handy
