I had my tv and monitor connected to my old pc, whenever you opened a movie in media player etc it would show it full screen on the tv too

I have an 8800GTS just now, can get the monitor + tv working fine but can't see the option to do what I described above, should that still work with my card? (can't see why not?) and where is the option in the nv control pasnel if it should ?

Afaik with wmp it is not possible on an nvidia card, but using VLC player it works fine

One of the best multimonitor programmes out there is Ultramon. It is absolutely superb, it bypasses all your gfx card properties, let's you customise resolutions for seperate screens (my monitor is 1920x1200 and my LCD tv is 1920x1080P) and copes fine with resizing stuff as you drag it. It also has hotkeys for turning on the second feed, you can lock the mouse useage to a particular screen also. Currently I am running their beta product for Vista x64 and seems very stable. Awesome programme and should meet all your needs. It isn't freeware but I would say it is particularly expensive for the freedom it has certainly given me with virtually no hassle.

The hotkeys are so useful too. I have bound the key combo to one of the preset keys on my Logitech keyboard, same for locking the mouse cursor to the main screen for when I am gaming but want something to display on the second screen.

-BA- is that using a PCI tv tuner? if so which one and do u have any problems gaming at high res and watching tv at the same time?

Sorry if I mislead you, I don't use it to watch a tv tuner but I do use it to watch the front of my house with an ip camera over a web browser. I am an Eve Online player so often play in window mode. Not tried it as yet with full screen gaming.
