currently running a virgin superhub 3.0 with wifi speeds quite happily hitting just shy of 400mbs in the same room with an iphone.

now moving upstairs where my pc is i'm getting a woeful 75meg/second (yes i know proper 1st world problem pc has an external antenna and is wifi6 ax200 (iphone pulles 55 meg in the same room

70s brick built house with say 30 feet direct line between modem and pc with a floor and wall in between.

running cat 6 was my first thought but just decorated so not going to happen for at least a year or 2.

any suggestions for a decent replacement for the superhub that will help or a completely new setup something like the tplink decos or similar? happy to spend up to say £200 or so as i'm considering upgrading speeds from VM but kinda pointless if my main rig cant make use of any speed increase

jsut to add tried home plugs (some bt600 series and they gave a fantastic max speed of 10 Mb/second. yes thats with a small b not a big B dissapointed was not the word

Homeplugs really depend on your house wiring. So if it was that low its unlikely better branded plugs would work either.

Your best bet will really be an AP, and one that's wired in. Any possibilities of running a cable upto the loft and having the AP on the landing ceiling/somewhere central?

Given you don’t want run cables, power lines don’t work and while router WiFi can vary, they all operate within the same legal restrictions, I think some sort of mesh system is likely your best bet. Given you’re getting decent speeds anyway for WiFi then you’ll need to look to a high end system with dedicated wireless backhaul.
