Options for installing XP on my Acer Inspire One Netbook

Hi guys,

I really want to get rid of windows 7 starter and install windows xp.

I've seen a few guides for installing xp on a netbook via a usb flash drive but it seems complicated and dodgey.

Could i install xp using an exeternal usb dvd drive? I'm worried i'll mes the usb install up and render my notebook useless

It's an Acer Inspire One D531, quite new!

I am confused as to why you would want the change?

Windows xp will run faster and play older programs/games better.

Windows 7 starter doesn't even let you change the desktop background :|

yes. bare in mind there may not be XP drivers available for your hardware.
