Moving the PC downstairs but don't want to move all the cables if possible.

What's my best bet for hooking my PC up to the wireless network ?

Cheers

Try the Tp-link plug in network sockety things. (im not sure what they're called.)

They are in the ad in the top right. They basically allow ethernet though exsisting power sockets i belive.

Agreed. Wireless isn't really all that reliable. The amount of data you can reliably send falls off very fast with distance and obstructions. In addition there is a large amount of errors with wireless networking causing resends, so if you ever use online gaming your experience may be sub standard.

Homeplugs are much better than wireless, at least usually, and now with faster and faster solutions they won't throttle your internet connection.

Cat5e/Cat6 Ethernet networking still remains the best home solution. If you can run the wires then it's probably better to do that, especially if this installation is going to be in use for the longer term.

In order or peference;

1 - Get some Cat6 wiring put in.
2 - 200Mb (or greater) homeplugs, try and test a pair if you can as some modern houses have separate mains circuits which they can't work across.
3 - Good quality wireless N kit at each end.

That's the ones. It's worth getting the 500 ones if you're moving large files around your home network or streaming HD material. If it's only for gaming or surfing the web then the 200 ones should be fine.
