I've just swapped my GTX680 for a GTX780Ti (Gigabyte reference) and have transferred over my MK-26 cooler equipped with 2 x Bitfenex Spectre Pro fans. On the 680 I was able to tweak the BIOS to reduce the minimum default fan speed, I'm exploring BIOS mods for the 780Ti to achieve similar results but also wanted some advice on alternative options.
1) is there any kind of inline adapter available that reduces the operating speeds of regular 4 pin PWM fans similar to the old 12v - 7v adapters for 3 pin fans?
2) Would it be worthwhile swapping the fans out with a couple of lower speed rated fans so that at the default minimum of 28% the fans are spinning slower and quieter? Any recommendations?
At 28% the spectre Pro's are ruining my what was silent (when not gaming) rig, and at that speed the cool the GPU to ~70c whilst benchmarking so it really isn't necessary to have them running that high when I'm surfing the web etc.
