Hi

until a few days ago I had an msi neo2 and had my opteron 146 running at a stable 3.0ghz; I have now built a new rig with an dfi ultra-d and a x1900xt (all memory etc from old setup).

My problem is that I can't get my 146 past 2.7 without crash to desktops or it wont load windows.

I'm running my cpu on same big typhoon, have tried 1.52v which was what had cpu on in msi, copied same timings as before for memory and am lost as to know what to try next.

Appreciate help, many thanks.

have ya done the bios on the DFI? As per the sticky always helps having the latest, i use a beta version and it's so much faster.

Have you ran mem test to check if ya ram has died?

Any settins in the bios you don;t need? i got list for mine of over 40 settings i turn off which make OC'inmg better and gets me the speed i want

Thanks for reply - i'm having this issue that cpu-z is showing different volts for cpu etc than the BIOS so am a little hesitant about increasing the volts on memory to 2.9; OCZ usually dont need more volts - in actual fact less is usually better.

drazic what the hell are you going on about? The dfi board supplies more than enough volts. If its 2 different readings coming from the same probe its a software problem.

So, your saying cpu-z is at fault and the BIOs reading is fine then?

Is there a way I can flash to the 623 in Windows as don't have a floppy drive connected - would appreciate link to a good guide if this is possible.

Thanks again for replies ppl.

Should have a cd with a utilty for flashing the bios, load it on then update that utilty and then get the bios on there.

My Asus and Abit 478 bords had it so DFI must

Mr Mister, so did my Abit and Asus but they dropp, ie jump around. the vdroop mod sorts it out and makes it run properly
