could be because 320x9= 2880 & 300x10=3000

have your started at say 275x10 and pushed it up 5mhz (fsb/htt) at a time.

yeah sorry the explanation isnt too clear, i know what i want to ask just having trouble finding the right words :(

i realise there is a speed difference, just trying to understand what the multiplyer does that causes the issue.

yeah i did get what you meant.... (well almost)

are you sure the cpu can do 3ghz, most can do 2.8-2.9 easily, but 3ghz is more of a task.

i have had 2x 146's, one wouldnt do 3ghz no matter what but would do 2.9 with less than 1.5v

the other would do 2.9 with really low Vcore (around 1.45) but needed 1.53 for 3ghz

have you tried 290x10?... i have had trouble in the past using low a lower multi at the same fsb, so i guess it could be one of those unexplained things

hope i have got what your meaning :D
