Apparently these have a new memory controller? Just received mine and about to install it but wondered if anyone else has 1 yet?

>.<

Little confused here cuz i was looking at abit mb's beforehand and their site explicitly states when it's opteron compatible. why would it say opteron AND athlon 64, or sometimes just athlon 64? Whatever :P At least now I can use the AN8 SLI that I was originally looking at :) Thanks for the clarification.

Technically all Opterons are server CPUs and are not supposed to be used on desktop motherboards, hence the reason why motherboard manufacturers rarely list then as being compatible. But they are compatible in reality.

Underboss Dave? nice one ;)

2.8ghz on 1.375V and not gone above 42c even after 3 hours of BF2 [i really should get out more] :)

Not 100% sure on the contact between the xp-120 and the cpu but will have a look tomorrow.

Anybody have any info on this "new" memory controller?

Well, Ive just finished my new (1st attempt) watercooled setup (ignore sig). Ive only just managed to get it stable in Windows.

its been Priming away at max heat settings for 2 hrs now. I was hoping it was going to be a GREAT clocker seeing it is CBBE 1610DPMW and I'm probably not doing something right but dont know what it is!!

vots+1.58!

Running Blend on both Cores so far for 2 hours 38 mins. 52c acceptable considering ambient temps?

Yeah, especially with this heat at the minute. Mine idle at 39/40c, full load can go up to 58c. But after September temps should drop a good bit. :)

Grrrr fell over after 5 hours maybe more volts needed or could there be abother cause.Dropped it down to 2.66ghz and it was fine :(

Maybe more volts and another run of prime.
Still only using 1.3v so plenty of headroom yet i hope.
