My pc has ground to a crawl since I formatted it. I'm not sure what I've done wrong but the last time I formatted I had some issues with the latest NForce drivers and hdd access.

I now have a sata drive and I *think* I installed everything in the correct order. After reading the sticky I didn't do it strictly in that order but they are all installed.

I have an opty 144, abit KN8 Ultra mobo, 512mb Geil ram etc etc.

Things like internet explorer take an age to load or ages to do anything and I had one flash animation on windows live website take up 100% processor usage last night!

Help me please its driving me crazy ;)

How long did you spend rigging it back up after the format?

With things like these I find it quicker to flatted the box and re-install everything, rather than troubleshoot.

Try unplugging/disconnecting and dusting all components and cables, refitting and making sure everything is wired in place safe and secure.

Then install just Windows and see how it behaves - load drivers and re-test the same tests each time 1 driver at a time unti you either;
a) find whats causing the problem
b) get the PC sorted and happy

Hope that gives you a lil food for thought

the most likely explanation is that you haven't installed the specific chipset/ graphics drivers for your system yet

As an after thought, could it be because I haven't installed the processor driver?

Can you guys give me some advice also - I have three hard drives

1x80gb sata
1x80gb ide (nearly dead)
1x40gb ide

Which drive would you use as a boot drive and which as a drive for your programs out of the sata and the 40gb?

Cheers :)
