Hi all,

Just recently moved my number over to T-Mob. I have got my final bill through from Orange today and there is a charge called MNP PAC (Debit) for £13.48. What the hell is that for???

I thought orange didnt charge for PACs????

You don't get charged for the PAC, however you are still liable for the line rental for the 30 day notice period as per your contract term (same as any other type of disconnection request)

Say, for example, you request your PAC on the 1/03/06, you'll be liable for line rental until 31/3/06, irrespective of when the PAC is actually used and the number is ported over.

If your port date is before the end of this time (say, for example, port completes on 15/03/06), you'll get an MNP debit for the remainder of the line rental for your notice period.

OT but this seems to be a suitable place to ask.

What are the TLAs PAC and MNP short for?

TIA :p

quick OT query for Dolph,

on orange bills, when you pay for example, Augusts bill, does it work like the vodafone system where you pay for septembers bill and get charged for july's calls? or do you pay for the month the bill is dated to be paid?

My latest bill was received on 5th April.

I paid for line rental from 5th April-5th May, and I paid for calls from 5th March-5th April.
