Orange being... bizarre.

Just got off the phone to Orange (47mins!). Eventually managed to get 500mins + 250 evening/weekend mins + 100texts + 1 Magic number for £40/m. She wasn't able to tell me if insurance was included, despite putting me on hold for 10mins to find out.

Thing is... I wanted to wait till the k800i was out to get a new phone. But they wouldn't let me get the magic number/250mins unless I upgraded my phone... which seemed utterly bizarre. She also told me that if I didn't upgrade my phone, not only would I not get the extras, but I wouldn't be able to have a chance to upgrade my phone until the end of the contract. Just plain weird.

So now I'm going to end up with two k750i's. Suppose I could flog one... and save the money for buying a k800i off the bay when they're released.

do you definitely need the magic number?

If not then T Mobile's FlexT tariffs seem a much cheaper and better option

Thread revival time.

Got the k750i today. Sat there wondering why the hell i'd ordered a phone i already have. Even if I was going to sell it, why would I order a phone that's over a year old that's not even worth much? Especially when on my spend I could've had any phone I liked for nothing.

So I rang Orange and I'm getting a jiffy bag sent out to return the phone. When that's done, I can then ring and sort a different phone.

But what happens if I don't ring? Will I still get my magic number & 250mins? If I do, I suppose I win. I can keep my phone, get the contract deal i wanted and get an upgrade when the k800i's out.

Suppose if no one knows the answer, i'll just stall till my next billing date and see what materialises.

Good to hear that there new tariffs are a bit flexible, im a premier 600 customer and t mobiles tariffs whip oranges butt severly
