hi guys...

i bought HL2 when it initially came out on PC (just to play counterstrike really) and thought it was mint, since then i have ditched the gaming pc, got a ps3 and pocketed all the spare cash (a move i have not regretted one bit i'm happy to add)...

anyway, kinda fancy a go at this team fortress and portal business so was wondering if its worth bothering with in its console guise?

is the control system as nice as COD4? unfortunately this was the first game i whacked into my PS3 and it set the benchmark for the rest (should probably have built up to it :p)

so yeah, worth getting or shall i just keep ploughing time in to the mighty call of duty?

It is worth getting on PS3 (as it is excellent value), but only if you don't have a 360 or even better, a PC. The framerates aren't quite as good on the PS3 as the other two.

It's well worth the £24 I've seen it for on PS3. Of course as it's all FPS, the control system is best with a keyboard and mouse. I've played it on the 360 and it's doable though with a gamepad, even the tricky portal maneouvres and the mad sequence at the end of HL2:Ep2.

I rented it on the 360 and thought the gfx were pap.. like real pap, so i didn't bother with spending anymore than 2 mins on the game before mailing it back.. I have it on the PC and it looks about a zillion times better.

You really want this on the PC to get the most of it, especially TF2, the scout is practically useless without the twitch action control using the mouse.

Still if you don't have a PC up to spec grab it on the console, as said 360 version is better if you have one.

It's a typical hideous port by EA, in fact, Valve asked the PS3 community what they found most problematic with it and are developing a patch to fix all the performance and technical issues. No dates issued yet though.

Get it on PC!!

if no PC, Get it on 360!!

if no 360 and no pc, Get it on PS3!!

Its a must have, so although the PS3 port is the worst, if thats your only option then still go for it.

That's good news I must admit. It's nice to hear that Valve are working to fix the performance issues, even after Gabe slated the PS3 so vocally.

This will become a must purchase for me if Valve deliver! (particularly as I lost my Steam login, therefore about £150 of games :()
