OK I have a full install of orange box on a PC I have just sold, can I leave it on and the new owner login to steam using his own credentials, or am I compromising the legality of my purchased game ?

for clarity I am not selling my game, but just trying to save a bit of install/setup hassle for new owner

TIA

Providing he longs in using his own credentials, it shouldn't be a problem. The game won't show/open unless he has it on his account.

if your're selling it

id personally un-install it all.

Yes it wont list the game in his games list, but i wouldnt be happy leaving anything like that on a machine i was selling unless it was to a mate i knew or family or whatever.

fair enuff, I'll just install my HL2 collectors edition and he can have that
You'll still have to install it to your account though, tbh the best bet would be to uninstall steam all together, or make sure you've ticked "don't save account credentials on this computer" via the steam settings > account menu.

You don't install games to your account, they get put into the directory and extracted for whichever user.
