Orange goes unlimited

No it does not, you are talking about the Sony Ericsson M600i right??...if so then no it doesnt have built in WIFI, only the P990i will have it.

Oh btw orange have totally butchered the m600i with their stupid operator branding as well. From what i have been reading over at my-symbian forums, a lot of people are quite upset about the butchering of the phone. a lot of functions have been disabled and you cant actually flash the phone back to the generic firmware as SE wont touch it.

Was actually talking about the SPV m600:o but thanks anyway:)

I got my new orange contract about six weeks ago on canary 40 which is a bit of a rip off tbh. is it possible for me to switch to the new dolphin tarriff?

You couldn't change to the new dolphin tarriff due to the migration policy (cannot move down within 6 months (12 month contracts) or 9 months (18 month contracts) after connection or upgrade.)

You could, however, move to the new Canary 40 package...

I get retail discount, so would I still benefit from the new texts and minutes?

Ok, changes are now live, so full details are available on the Orange website.

The crux of the changes are more minutes, especially on 18 month contracts, as well as the unlimited benefits on certain tarriffs.

The unlimited tarriffs are:

Dolphin 35

500 mins (550 if bought online), unlimited texts. £35/month

Racoon 35

500 mins (550 online), 200 texts, unlimited calls to landlines £35/month

Canary 40

600 minutes (660 online), 400 texts, unlimited off peak minutes to Orange £40/month

Panther 75

1500 minutes (1600 online), unlimited texts, unlimited offpeak internet use £75/month

Magic numbers are still running, as is the free broadband, all the tarriffs have had their number of minutes increased quite dramatically as well.

What about us users who don't actually want 600+ minutes per month? They seem to only offer high usage plans. Some of us don't have many friends and ony want it for 'normal' use...! :p

Am I the only one who think that it is now over complicated?

So many animals and price plans :S

I mean you go onto t-mobile and they give you a little grid and you select how many mins/txt/prices(relax) or a calling allowance or on o2 they have 2 sorts of plans 1 for txt and 1 for calls they to me are so simple and orange confuse me :(

And that url doesnt seem to work

Is this the standard orange downgrade policy?

So if i went with a Canary £40 contract (18 month) after 9 months i could downgrade to a canary £30?

I cant find the t&c of this kind of policy.

You can move down one price point at a time once the migration period is up (so you could move from any £40 price plan to a £35 price plan) per month. If you're on an animal package already, you can move to other animal packages, if you're on something else, you can't move to an animal, only to the core tarriffs.

So one month i can move from £40 to £35 and the the next month move to £35 to £30?

Its highly unlikely that i will downgrade, but it will be nice to have that option.

Exactly :)

You can also move between equivilent price packages if your usage pattern changes or if it's not suitable for you (eg move from Canary £30 to Racoon £30) at any time.

Just looked up part 15.1 of the monthly contract T&C and your exactally right!

Since you know so much, is the orange sat nav feature any good? The one where you pay £1 a week for?
