Hey guys,

I’ve just setup a LiveBox for a neighbour and i haven’t been able to connect they’re laptop to it?

They’ve got a Packard Bell Easynote, bought on Sunday, with an onboard ‘Ralink Turbo Wireless Lan Card.’

I’m not so worried about it not working with the onboard card, but what adaptors do these LiveBoxes actually work with? I’ve setup 4 in total and not one of them has worked with any kind of wireless connection.

I’ve tried various onboard adaptors and a D-Link. Is it something I’m not doing right or are there adaptors out there that do work with the LiveBox – what can you recommend :)

Cheers,

SW.

I've only ever set one up for someone, it was using an adapter ordered from orange at the same time as the livebox, took blooming ages to get it up and running.

you acctually have to press the pairing button on the livebox. "number 1" ... press it when the wireless connection has been activated on the laptop.

Ah, are they the two little buttons above what looks like a USB interface :)

Yeah, press button 1 puts the livebox in pairing mode for 10 minutes, and try again. Few good point I always remind customers about the WEP key is:
1. Capital letters
2. No spaces
3. Zero's not the letter O (its a hex key)

You'd be amazed at how many people dont get those 3 right, finally if all that fails stick the livebox in WEP only or WPA only mode (you'll find it in the livebox config pages under confiuration > advanced > wireless) and then try again. That'll solve it
