Just received my new M3100 from orange. It has an annoying stuck red pixel!! Not really viewable in normal use, but really annoying on a black screen such as in a video.

I've never dealt with mobile phone stuck pixels before - only TFT ones. Are there any Windows Mobile programs to fix a stuck pixel or do I have to resort to sending it back to orange?

If they wont replace it due to one dead pixel its well within its 14 day return thing so i'll just have to cancel the contract and they'll have to take it back anyway! Anyone dealt with Orange and getting a phone exchanged for a dead pixel?

A failed pixel is hardware, so no, there is no software to fix it. I would guess though that 1 pixel is not enough to be considered a failure though.

Interestingly sometimes pixels can be "cured", depending on how they have failed (you always hear about people rubbing their LCDs on larger flat panels).

I would be interested to know how many pixels warrants a replacement as well.

Orange replaced my phone the next day free of charge :) A courier came and picked up my faulty phone and replaced it with a new boxed one on the spot. Kudos to Orange for that. I was within the 14 day money back thing for new contracts so this could be why Orange were so helpful (plus I'd reported it the day I got the phone whilst activating it with them) so I don't know if they would be so helpful after the 14 days is up and you're stuck with the 12 month contract.

As I pointed out to them, if they didnt want to replace the phone I would simply cancel the contract, return the phone and get a brand new contract again hance getting a replacement that way.
